Ran out of ideas to make something new, tasty, easy and in a jiffy, here comes "Nepali Black Sesame Seed (Til) Chutney" to your rescue.


Nepali Black Sesame Seed (Til) Chutney...
Ingredients-
1/2 cup Black Sesame seed (Til)
1/2 cup yellow Peas, soaked and boiled
1 tbsp Ginger paste
1 medium-sized Onion, finely chopped
1 medium-sized Onion, finely chopped for garnishing (optional)
1 medium-sized Potato, cut into small cubes
1 tbsp of Green Chilli paste
3 tbsp Mustard Oil
1 tbsp Lemon juice/pulp of Tamarind (Imli)
Salt To Taste
Method-
Soak the yellow peas overnight.
Now, in a pan, roast the black sesame seeds on low flame. Roast till they turn golden brown. Take a mixer, grind the roasted sesame seeds to a paste. Keep aside. Take the soaked yellow peas and boil them. Boil till the peas are medium cooked. Now, in a pan, heat the mustard oil. Add the chopped onion and the potato cubes and cook till soft. Then add the ginger and green chilli paste. Saute for 30 seconds. Add the boiled peas to it. Mix well. Fry for 3-4 minutes on medium flame. Now, add the sesame seed paste to it. Add the lemon juice and salt to taste. Mix everything well. Remove from fire. Add chopped onion and green chillies (optional). Mix well. Your chutney is ready. Serve with hot rice.
