Dharos Alu Posto...

Therefore here I present before you a very popular recipe of the Bengali households- "Dharos Alu Posto", prepared to relieve all from the daily toil of excavating some distinct cuisine at the dinner table to please your taste buds. Dharos Alu Posto...
Ingredients-
1 Potato, diced into medium pieces
200 gms Dharos (lady'sfinger), Cut into medium pieces
1 tablespoon Posto (Poppy seed)
2-3 Green Chilli
1 Dry Red Chilli
1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
1 teaspoon Kalojeera (kalaonji / Nigella seeds / Onions seeds)
Salt and Sugar to taste
Mustard Oil
Method-
Soak the posto in water for about 30 minutes. Remove and grind it with 2 green chillis in to a fine paste. You can also grind it without soaking. Heat oil in a kadai and add the potato and dharos pieces and add a teaspoon of salt and turmeric powder. Cook the vegetables for 6 to 8 minutes so that it becomes tender. Remove it from fire and keep aside. Add more oil if needed in the same pan and add kalojeera, dry red chilli and the green chillies. Add the posto paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, salt and sugar and fry in medium flame until the oil gets separated from the posto. Add cooked vegetables and stir fry for 6 to 8 minute. Remove from fire, put it in a serving dish. Serve hot with steaming hot rice/roti/parathas.
