Mochar Chop...

Ran out of ideas to make something new, tasty, easy and in a jiffy, here comes "Mochar Chop" to your rescue.

Mochar Chop...
Ingredients-
Banana Flower : 1/2 cup, finely chopped
Boiled Potato : 2-3
Raisin (Kishmish) : 1/4 cup
Chopped Coconut : 1/4 cup
Peanut : 2-3 tbsp
Boiled Chola : a handful
Red Chilli powder : 1 tsp
Black Pepper powder : 1 tsp
Besan (Gram Flour) : 2 cups
Kalonji : 1tsp
Water : 1/3 cup
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying (about 2-3 cups)
Method-
Peel the potatoes and smash them and make a smooth dough of it.
Dry roast the peanut on medium flame. Be careful not to burn it.
Add the stir-fried banana flower into the mashed potato. Add raisin, boiled chola, chopped coconut, roasted peanut, red chilli powder and black pepper powder and make a smooth dough. Don’t add water, it should be a bit dry. Otherwise the chops won’t be able to hold the shape. Make a batter of besan, kalonji, salt and water.
Take a tbsp of the dough in your palm and shape it according to your wish. Try to make it neat. Otherwise it will break apart in the oil while frying. Follow the same with rest of the dough.

Heat oil in a wok on medium flame. Dunk a small amount of the dough to check the temperature of the oil. If it sizzles immediately it is the correct temperature and turn the flame to medium-low. If it stays at the bottom the oil is not hot enough. When the oil is hot enough to fry the chops, dip the chops in the besan batter

and put 2-3 chops in the hot oil at a time and fry them till golden brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon and arrange on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Serve hot with Kasundi or with your favourite dip or sauce.
